ABOUT

yay

Hello, and welcome to my wacky blog. You can call me Magnet. If you do enough (not much really) internet stalking, I’m sure you can figure out what my ‘real’ name is, if you have to know that badly. It’s quite boring though, I wouldn’t bother. I reside on the west side (isthebestside) of Melbourne (in Australia), born and raised since 1990. I’m a nerdy, socially awkward, loser, who had no friends for the entire year of 2001, 2002, 2003 AND 2007. I started blogging in 2003 because of previously mentioned lack of friends. The internet became my best friend and photoshop became my boyfriend. I had crappy beginnings, I almost died once, I have hypochondria, which creates many anxiety issues, but guess what world, I HAVE BIG DREAMS! When I was younger, during my time at Greek school, I would draw pictures after pictures after pictures of different girls, wearing various outfits. I didn’t get ‘seriously’ into fashion, or rather, style, until I was 15 though. It’s difficult when you’re not a trillionaire sometimes, but hey, money can buy you clothes, but it can not buy style my friends. Having fun while I’m getting dressed is a way for me to add excitement to my otherwise mediocre, and incredibly dull life. This may look like a fashion blog (actually, probably not) but it’s more a place for me to rant, rant, and rant some more. If you’re not cool with that, please, feel free to leave now, like right now. This is the United States of Dark Vice. No, this is not a democracy, and I don’t have to listen to your negative shit. This planet, humanity itself and my life thus far has been negative enough already. I paid for this domain and space, so you know, if I want to pretend I’m awesome, I’m going to and I’m not going to let anyone rain on my parade. Go start your lame internet drama somewhere else.

My first website was called Glitter Swirl, it was created in 2004 and it was dedicated to helping people make pretty looking websites. I named this blog Dark Vice because:

A. I like dark clothes, like black, for example.
B. I have had many dark moments in my life, and these things are not to be ashamed about, despite what our pathetic society tells you.
C. My obsession with style is a major vice for me. I mean, having fun with self expression and what not is definitely not a bad thing, but let’s face it, it can be costly and I’m often in financial turmoil because of my highly expensive interest.
D. It sounds cool, sorry, it doesn’t get much deeper than that. There are no subconscious highly artistic meanings to the name.
