CHEMICAL ALTERATIONS

WASSUUUUP? Is it possible to have too many 60s inspired coats? If so, how many is too many dear reader? These are the questions one must really contemplate in their time. Hmm.

I have to admit, the editing of the images today is pretty crappy. I made these extra fast and just ceebs today (yesterday) Sorray.

Today I was offered a full time contract at work for at least 7 weeks. Possibly an extra 5 later. I felt a little depressed. It’s already July and I still don’t have a graphic design job :( Maybe I should just give up on my design hopes, what do you think? Is it time to think about another direction to go in? I’m so confused. Working 39 hours a week is going to suck the life out of me, not that 39 hours a week is deadly, but when it’s a job your heart isn’t really set on, things can get a little draining. You know what I’m saying? Although my rate of pay will drop, I’ll still be making a decent amount of cash, and hey, I just got a car, so at least I won’t be freaking out about having enough money for petrol. Sigh, I really do wish I had a creative job by now though. I feel like I’ve been putting in all this work for years for nothing.

Me and mah hellbounds, and you thought you’d never see me smiling! To follow all my indecisive, online shopping adventures, ‘Like’ DARK VICE on Facebook

Haha cool, we both wore Pink Hellbounds on the same day! And yay you got your Mermaid ones too! Do you love them?
I really love your Jacket and Skirt in this outfit too, is the Skirt the AA Petticoat? xx

Yes! I do love them, I wasn’t even going to buy them initially, but then I saw a few pictures of them and decided that they were too pretty to not purchase. Yes, that is the AA Petticoat skirt. Have you see their new lace tutu style skirts? FAARK, I want to buy them so badly. The black and lilac colour.. aah.

      • Princess Lisha

I’ve been looking to buy that skirt, but the baby pink colour, they have some cute stuff :) xx

They sure do! You should see my AA ‘dream’ shopping bag, it’s over $1000

  • Courtenay

Don’t give up, your graphics are amazing and I can’t imagine that someone with your talent will go unnoticed forever!

  • Jasmine Alvarez

No don’t give up!!! Keep trying, you are really good and hard work always pays off :-)

  • Ludo

Wow, I can’t believe you’re already thinking of throwing in the towel for something you studied so long to do. My friend is in the exact same boat as you (just graduated, looking for a graphic design job) and it is tough! I know you feel discouraged, but graphic design is a difficult industry to get your first job in and you may have to look for months or even years before you get a break. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time. If you’re really passionate about it, you shouldn’t quit now. You have this other job to fall back on for money, so don’t give up on your dream.

Don’t you DARE give up. You’re so crazy talented, you cannot let this design thing go! If you do, you’re going to regret it. It’s what you love to do! It might take time, but you have to keep trying. Pretty please?
May the force be with you.

Staying motivated can be hard, but you MUST stick to your dreams! You still have time to gain experience (even if it’s not design related, you will always learn something!) , do personal projects, meet people and develop contacts…a lot of people do not know what they want to do with their lives, you do! Nothing is easy nowadays it has to be said. I’ve always loved hats and that’s why I did a millinery course and apprenticeship, even though I knew work would be hard to find and I’m most probably going to have a crap salary for the rest of my life, but I don’t see myself doing anything else! Keep on keeping on!!! :)

  • Rhiannon Daly

    DON’T BE CRAZY!
Your graphs are my fave!!!! NEVER GIVE UUUPP!!!!!!
    Lovin’ the hellbounds, loving eer’thang!!!
    xx

PAH is THIS what you call crappy editing? DUDE as if. Your editing is always fabulous duh. I don’t have much advice on the whole career thing considering I have, like, zero experience there, but I say don’t give up on graphic design because DUH YOU’RE SO AWESOME AT IT SERIOUSLY I JUST CAN’T.

A job in the creative field is no easy feat. Power to you, stick in there and you’ll get there soon enough.
You smiling ? I think its going to rain cats and dogs, but who knew ? You look as cute as a button with that smirk. And those hellbounds are something to smile about, thats for sure. I enjoy your quirkily edited photos. What I wouldnt give to creep over your shoulder and see you in action, creating these gems in photoshop.
